Dillard Women continue dominance with Fourth Straight Title
SHREVEPORT, La. - April 12, 2025 - The Dillard University women's track and field team had another banner day claiming the 2025 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Track and Field Championship for its fourth straight conference title Friday and Saturday at Lee Hedges Stadium.
The Lady Bleu Devils posted 277 points, nearly doubled the runner-up Talladega College, which tallied 140 points. Kevell Byrd earned Most Valuable Track Athlete with 35 points. She won the 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter dashes and ran legs on the HBCUAC Champion 4 x 100-meter and 4 x 400-meter relay teams. Reign Snowden won the Most Valuable Field Athlete with 25 points. She won the hammer throw and finished third in the discus and shot put.
Dillard's assistant coach Brandon Scruggs garnered HBCUAC Women's Track and Field Assistant Coach of the Year and head coach Nile Legania was honored as the 2025 HBCUAC Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year.
