Lumpkin, Wade garner HBCUAC Softball Weekly Awards after leading Stillman to title
NEW ORLEANS - April 28, 2025 - Stillman College's first baseman Avary Lumpkin wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Softball Player of the Week and Jasmine Wade takes home Pitcher of the Week after leading the Tigers to the 2025 HBCUAC Softball Title, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Lumpkin earned the 2025 HBCUAC Softball Championship Most Valuable Player after helping Stillman win the title. She went 6-for-12 with seven RBI and two runs. Four of her six hits went for extra bases. In the first game against Oakwood, Lumpkin hit a two-RBI single that gave the Tigers the lead in the fourth inning. She hit a three-run home run in the winner's bracket final against Dillard which gave Stillman the lead. She hit an RBI double in the championship.
Wade went 2-0 in the 2025 HBCUAC Softball championship to lead Stillman to the title. In the winner's bracket final, after allowing three runs on five hits in the first two innings, she limited Dillard to one run on four hits in the final five innings. In the championship game on Saturday, none of the three runs she allowed were earned and held the Bleu Devils to four hits. Wade improved her record to 12-4.

About HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
